New regulations for international students studying in Malaysia
The Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia via its private arm Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) has enacted several new measures in order to streamline and facilitate visa processes for international students who wish to enroll at Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia. As part of these new arrangements, EMGS will now coordinate the International Student’s Pass (Visa), the provision of Medical Insurance and the arrangements for health checks. To cover the costs associated with providing this service, EMGS has imposed a number of new charges which amount to a minimum of RM1830 for all new applications and a minimum of RM950 for the renewal of a student pass. The University has agreed to share part of the additional costs as part of our commitment to supporting international students to study at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus.
